How much does it cost and what do I get for my money?
One years subscription costs £66 for one child and £30 per additional child and this gives you unlimited access to all of the site. This also includes your criminal records bureau (CRB) check which is compulsory. The average cost for after school care in the UK is around £42 for a 15 hour week. The average weekly cost of a place for a child in a summer play scheme is around £80. So £66 for one child per annum is extremely good value.
Are you an employment agency?
No, we are simply an intermediary bringing people together who want to share childcare. Any arrangements are at your own discretion
What checks do you carry out?
As part of your subscription you must submit to a CRB check as part of your subscription. These are not available directly to the general public.
The CRB process requires that you supply certain information, that establish identity and address and of course criminal records, and the same would be required of the family you wish to share with.
There are no other checks, any sharing arrangements are at your discretion and we recommend you complete the Get2knowu forms, and feedback forms. Some guidance advice will be provided when you are invited to subscribe to the site, such as what questions to ask, where to meet, etc.
What if I can't find anyone?
Your subscription is for a year so hopefully you should be able to find someone. Obviously the more people that join, the easier it will be to find someone to share with.
How do the school/s my children attend, benefit from my subscription?
When you register, you tell us which schools your children attend. If that school/s have registered on our school register, then those school/s will receive a % of your annual subscription for as long as you subscribe!.If you have more than one child and they attend different schools, then the % will be split between the two schools. So you are also raising funds for your school/s as well as getting the benefit of sharing childcare.
What is a CRB check?
CRB stands for Criminal Records Bureau. It requires certain individuals to be checked before they are allowed to work with children, e.g. teachers. Members of the public are not allowed to apply for a CRB check either on themselves or others. However Letssharecare.com can administer the application of CRB checks. As sharers of childcare you need a CRB check on yourself as does the family you are going to share with. You would receive a copy of your own check, as would we. The same would apply to the family you are sharing with. We would then advise you, if we felt the CRB check showed some concerns. Note, if you are 2 parent household, then both of you will have to have CRB checks. If you have any queries regarding the CRB then please email us at CRB@letssharecare.com
What documentation is required for a CRB check?
The CRB check requires you to fill in an application form which we will supply to you. Also required is certain documentation to prove your identity, which we will check and return back to you. For further information see the guidance notes on the CRB website www.crb.gov.uk
I've registered, but not received a confirmation email?
It may be that your email address is incorrect, if you email us your address we can check it matches the one on your registration form. Also you may have received the confirmation, but it is sitting in your junk mail folder. If you add our email address to your contacts section, this will ensure future emails get sent to your inbox.
How can I pay?
Our payment provider is Paypal. If you already have an account with them you can pay through that. If you haven't got an account with them, then you can pay with a credit/debit card. Cheque payments are also possible, made payable to 'Letsshareonline Ltd' and posted to The Meridian, 4 Copthall House, Station Square, Coventry CV1 2FL.
How do I search?
Using the search box you can search by school, postcode, or username. When searching by postcode, its best to put the first 3 digits, i.e LE2, to give you the widest choice of potential sharers(you could try just the first two letters LE to give the results for your city/town and then narrow them down from there). When entering a school name, please enter the full title of the school. The search will show all the schools with that particular name, and the area/city it is located in. If you know the username of the potential sharer, simply enter it and that username's profile will be displayed.
How do I add more children to my subscription?
If you wish to add another child to your subscription, then log in and click on "Subscribe" and click "Add more children" this will guide you to Paypal to pay for the extra child/children. Once you have paid, and we have received your payment, return to our site and click on "Edit profile" then simply add the age and gender of the new child/children. Note, you wont be able to update the new details straightaway, as we will need to add the extra child/children to your profile first. This may take 24 hours. You can reduce the number of children by emailing us and we will change and update your profile, but there would be no refund of monies that you paid at the start of your subscription.
The subscription for the additional child/children will be calculated on a pro rata basis so it will end at the same time as your original subscription.
For example, if you first subscribed in January with one child, and then subsequently decided to add another child to your subscription and therefore profile in July, you will be charged half the annual subscription fee. So all your subscriptions would end at the same time.
Am I able to register if I have very young children or babies?
Yes, when filling in the registration form, simply select the age of the baby as 1, and in the narrative section put the details, i.e. exact age of the baby, and the details of the childcare sought.
